Our tour company (EWT) recommends insuring your tour with www.travelguard.com. I priced out the cost of coverage and it is $102 with a $38 surcharge for a "Cancel for any reason" 50% policy, (which would have to be purchased within 15 days of your initial deposit).
You may also find that AAA's rates are competitive.

when you're old, it costs more! my quote from travelguard is $182. the agent acknowledged the age factor did it! my AAA quote is about $50 less. a few of the benefits are not quite as generous, but adequate i think.
ReplyDeleteAnd keep in mind that the insurance is optional, a friend of ours from Sarasota says she never buys it. Also, the 15 day from deposit thing is for those who want to buy the “cancel for any reason” add-on for those last minute decisions (50% refund).
ReplyDeleteThe basic part of the policy can be purchased anytime through April since the tour company itself is offering a ‘cancel for any reason” refund, until May 1st.
